Visiting a Maasai village

In between safaris, we visited a Maasai village. The village was close by our Game Lodge so it was just a quick drive. The visit began with some traditional dancing. The men began and then the women. The Magical Maasai Mara

Our first day on safari in the Maasai Mara started off with a 5 hour drive out of Nairobi, the last half of which was over some of the roughest roads that we had ever experienced anywhere. Baby Elephants and Ox Balls

Our first day after the build we headed back to Nairobi. Our first stop once we arrived in Nairobi was the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where they house orphaned elephants and rhinos. They are only open from 11-12 daily so our window was small but the experience was well worth it! This was our first opportunity to see elephants in Africa and it was awesome to see them interacting with the keepers and literally running to get bottles of milk! Saying Goodbye to Maai Mahiu

The last day of our build was a big deal for our entire team. Our team members that had done Habitat builds before had told us that it's actually quite rare to see a house go from start to finish.
